Tour Plan
Upon arrival, you will be received and proceed to the Kigali Genocide Memorial centre, known as the primary site for understanding the genocide in Rwanda. Here, you will encounter the harsh truths of the genocide, learn about the historical events of the 1994 Rwanda genocide through photographs, videos, and written records, as well as view various artifacts, personal stories, Memorial Gardens with ten graves, and the National Documentation Centre of the Genocide. These elements collectively emphasize the significance of honoring the victims. Later, head for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing with your ranger guide on gorilla tracking. Enjoy the tropical forest and natural beauty during your trek, then return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
You can enjoy a second optional gorilla tracking and identify each gorilla in the group by name. Alternatively, you can go for Golden Monkey trekking. Have lunch in the bush or forest before returning to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you can pay a visit to the grave of the late Dian Fossey. She was an American naturalist and the first white Gorilla Hero of Africa. Dian Fossey's story is a beautiful one that revolves around her efforts to conserve the great apes in Africa. She spent time learning, exhibiting, and living the gorilla lifestyle. If possible, you can even grab a copy of "Gorillas in the Mist," a natural movie based on the natural beauty of Africa's rainy forests. Later, you can have a free leisure break, dinner, and spend the night at your lodge.
Wake up in the morning for breakfast and later transferred to Kigali Airport for your international flight.
