Murchison Falls Adventure
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park-evening game drive
Arrival at the agreed point of meeting, our company driver/ guide will receive you, and start the
journey to Murchison falls National Park, you will drive through several towns along the way, and
may opt stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where the endangered White rhinoceros are conserved.
This sanctuary was started to protect the White Rhino populations in Uganda. Rhino Trekking
goes for USD 50 per person. You will continue to Masindi Town where you will stop for lunch ,after
which you will drive 2‐3 hours to the National park. As you drive through Budongo Forest, expect to
meet troops of Baboons, monkeys and several bird species.
At the park you will check in at your lodge and thereafter go for an evening game drive. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Lodge.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise along the Nile
Have breakfast by 6:00am and at 6:30am be ready to start your adventure in the wilderness in search
of the early morning raisers. Look out for animals such as; the giraffes, lions, hyenas, waterbucks, elephants, buffalos, antelopes ‐ many bird species such as; egrets, ibis, shoebill stock, marabou
stock, king fisher, egrets to mention but a few. As you have your game drive, you may relax and have
a picnic on the river bank as you listen to the groans of the Hippos.
After the game drive, you will be transferred back to the lodge for your lunch or you may have
packed lunch with you. After your lunch break, you will set off for an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River. This allows you to get up close to the aquatic animals such as hippos and crocodiles.
Birds commonly sited on the boat cruise include the goliath heron, king fisher, weaver birds, bee
eater and cattle egrets.
The journey continues upstream and close to what is known as the “Devil’s Cauldron”. This place
provides an excellent angle for taking photos of the beautiful falls. You will disembark from the
boat and hike to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy the powerful Nile as it squeezes through the
narrow 7‐meter gorge, crushing down 42 feet below, producing thunderous splashes of water which
raises up 10 meters high. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Lodge.
Day 3: -Boat cruise along the Nile delta- Departure back to Kampala
After breakfast at the hotel the driver will pick you up and take you for the boat cruise along the delta
area of the park. The cruise goes deeper into the Nile to discover amazing scenery and wildlife. If you
are a birder, you will be very impressed with the variety of species especially when you reach
the vast papyrus swamps. Expect to see more crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes.
You will reach the point where the Nile deposits any waste before proceeding to what is known as
the Albert Nile. After this experience, you will start your journey back to in Kampala.
