Approximately 27kms south of Entebbe town, about 20mins journey
You will be transferred by the company driver to water font beach in Entebbe to catch a speed boat to Ngamba island for chimpanzee tracking, this sanctuary is Surrounded by the peaceful waters of Lake Victoria, The Sanctuary is home to 52 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. This trip to the sanctuary will provide an exceptional opportunity to closely observe these fascinating great apes in our unique setting, you will have lunch at the Ngamba ecolodge restaurant and later be transferred to visit the John Speke house which has remained relatively untouched for over 100 years. Right in the middle of the house stands a tree that is also believed to be over 100 years. From here you will head to visit the Nanziri waterfalls: The area is considered sacred by the locals; you are required to remove your shoes and talk in very low tones. Your Guide will let you know of the rules to be followed while in the place. While at the waterfalls you will notice remains of various sacrifices to Nanziri (god of the waterfalls) and other spirits. People from all walks of life come to this relatively simple place to get blessings, protection, wealth and fertility. The fishermen come here more frequently to seek blessings before going out to fish. The locals even believe that the water from the falls can cure all kind of diseases. Proceed to Bugala Island and check in at the hotel relax and enjoy the white sand at beach. A camp-fire can be made on request later in the evening. After your breakfast at your hotel, the Guide will be waiting to help you locate birds, primates, butterflies and other wildlife species as you walk through the forests in the island. Later go back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch you will head to visit the landing/fishing sites and learn about their fishing lifestyle. Take as many photos as you can of the island.
